Time For Action...Measuring Up Style

"Survey says..."  This is not a game show; it's survival of the fittest in the business world.  Consumers drive most business decisions - or do they?  All too often, they do not.  Operational performance becomes the goal instead of the by-product.  Acquisition cost of customers is debated while procedures designed to retain existing customers are ignored.

Gather information, report and analyze it, then act on it.  How you do it is up to you, but if you don't plan to change your business practices based on the results of Measuring Up data, don't bother with the surveys.  If you start asking your customers, clients, patrons or patients questions, they will expect to see change for the better, because you are telling them you want their input.  Some of it may reinforce what you are doing right, but chances are the people who do business with you will point out some deficiencies in your operation.
